Daniel Priestley speaks at launch of The Expert Economy
The full-day event took place on Thursday 12th October 2017 at Lakeside North Harbour, Portsmouth with guest speakers Daniel Priestley, Naomi Johnson and Ian Dickson. Over 50 businesses came to learn how to position themselves as the ‘go-to’ expert in their industry. By the first break, the reviews were already in.
How did it all begin?
By simply saying ‘Yes’. I must have watched too many motivational videos and read too many books about just saying ‘yes’ to opportunity. When I begin 2017 I didn’t set out to host a large event or establish a new brand. I simply saw Daniel Priestley across the room and decided to brush past him and say ‘Hey Daniel, do you want to come to Portsmouth again this year?’ He simply nodded before talking to the next person lining up to speak with him.
To be honest I nearly didn’t ask. The thought of taking something on like this scared me. It was certainly out of my comfort zone and I probably felt the weight of it daily over the eight months it took to develop.
I didn’t have a name and we didn’t have a concept.
However, over the next 8 months, the messaging came together and I launched a brand new brand.
No, we don’t have it all together and The Expert Economy website needs a good re-fit to match the amazing concept it has become. Over the coming months, we ask you to watch this space. We’ll be sharing great content and building a community for the brave solo-entrepreneurs out there that risk it all to serve those who need their expertise.
So the moral of the story is, you often won’t have all the answers and won’t always know where you’re going, but the power is in saying YES. When you say YES to an opportunity you open the door to your potential and becoming who you were born to be.
Will you join us on the journey?
Over the coming weeks, I will be working on the new design of the website to match the new book cover and building the community. We don’t have all the answers, but let’s find them together.
The Expert Economy is about being able to affect positive change around us by using our expertise and knowledge.
Since publishing this article, we certainly have been up to a lot. See the banner below.
Founder of The Expert Economy
Naomi Johnson is a LinkedIn Profile Expert who began her entrepreneurial career as a Life Coach in 2006. After making all the classic mistakes and writing her book Grassroots to Green Shoots about the lessons she learned, Naomi was determined to rectify her wrongs and master the art of winning new business as a solo-entrepreneur.
She went on the establish TheProfile.Company, becoming a world-leading LinkedIn Profile expert and writing her book What to Put on Your LinkedIn Profile. Before long, Naomi began to notice that not only did people tend to undersell themselves on their profile, but they were missing vital business components, that if put in place, would dramatically change their results. It was from here that The Expert Economy was born.
