How to Hire a Virtual Team
If we want to grow our business, we need to build a team. This may not be full-time staff or even permanent, but when a job falls out of our skillset or a task doesn’t need to depend on us, we need good people around us that we can rely on.
But how easy is it?
There are many sites available to help us connect with talented people around the world.
– Upwork
– Fiverr
– People Per Hour
…to name a few.
We can hire people to do a task for us once or to be part of our team indefinitely.
There are many options.
But sometimes, the pain of hiring someone doesn’t pay off.
Recently, I’ve taken back some of the core tasks in my business which has made me feel way more in control than when I was relying on someone else.
Is this because I should be doing it myself, or because I made a bad hire?
Was the bad hire just someone who was bad at their job? Or was it because they were a bad fit for my business?
Or did I just hire the wrong type of person for the task?
This is all stuff Sue Ingram will be covering in this weeks talk at The Expert Economy Friday Networking!
If you’re an Expert Entrepreneur, someone who sells their expertise as a service, outsourcing admin and other tasks within your business will become imperative.
In this talk, Sue is going to share with us the basics of recruiting, how easily it can go wrong, and how usually, the beginning of any breakdown in the working relationship starts in the recruitment process – and is always on us!!
She’ll be busting some myths and getting us on the right track for building our business with a virtual team realistically.

She went on the establish TheProfile.Company, becoming a world-leading LinkedIn Profile expert and writing her book What to Put on Your LinkedIn Profile. Before long, Naomi began to notice that not only did people tend to undersell themselves on their profile, but they were missing vital business components, that if put in place, would dramatically change their results. It was from here that The Expert Economy was born.
